Yapalong Radio Technology
The Yapalong is the name of our brand of full-duplex radio communications system, allowing for two-way conversation between users simultaneously. This results in a natural, phone-like conversation, and is compatible with open microphone, push-to-talk, and 2-channel headsets. As this is our own IP technology, we have been able to develop a competitive product offering superior range, sound quality, and group size, while keeping the cost low.
One major point of difference between the Yapalong and it's competitors is our unique "no-master" feature. What this means is that the Yapalong mesh network requires neither base station nor master unit, which makes operation flexible and the connection robust. As long as at least 2 units of the same group are within range, they will be able to communicate without any interruptions. If a unit does wander out of range, the connection is automatically resumed when the unit comes back without any hassle.
The Yapalong-4000 is our current classic model, and a favourite in many industries such as sports, industrial operations, construction, event planning, camping, search and rescue, combat, firefighting, policing and much more. It is widely used by soccer, rugby, football and hockey professionals globally.
You may notice the Yapalong-4000 series comes in 2 variants; the standard unit, used for communication, and the "listener" unit, that functions as an output-only device. The major benefit is that you may only need particular members of your group to listen, and so this provides a cost-effective option for those with budget constraints.
